London offers an abundance of places to visit and things to see on a weekend break. Shop till you drop in busy Oxford Street and Regent Street and if you get tired then walk just a few paces to the quiet interesting side streets with a selection of Pubs, restaurants and interesting small shops. Your idea of a weekend break might be to visit the sites of London, Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guards, the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament, or you might want to visit the many Art Galleries and Museums. In Kensington there are the world renowned museums of the V&A, the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum and, on the banks of the river Thames, are the Tate Britain Gallery and the Tate Modern. The British Museum in Bloomsbury is worth a visit if only to see the fantastic new addition to the building. In the City of London the setting of St Paul's Cathedral has been vastly improved and is worth a visit even if you have visited Wren's masterpiece previously. Regents Park and London Zoo have always been favourites with families.
